KELSEY
MACDONALD
ACTOR ⊛ SINGER ⊛ SONGWRITER
@Kelsonstage
she/her
Kelsey knew her passion for performing was fated to turn into her career when she was the only Oompa Loompa that got to say lines in a park district performance of Willy Wonka. Since that ~inspiring~ role at age 7, Kelsey continued to find her place on the stage. Originally from the Chicagoland area, she was exposed to incredible theatre and training throughout her adolescence. A recent graduate of
The Boston Conservatory, Kelsey received a BFA in Musical Theatre with a songwriting emphasis. She currently resides in New York City, writing and performing her own music, while continuing to pursue her theatrical career.
Off Stage
Kelsey's drive stems beyond the creative and into the responsibility of advocacy and equity. She is rigorously working to improve herself as an artist and this tenacious work ethic is a strength outside her artistry as well. As an artist, she approaches her work through a lens of human connection and empathy. Kelsey is a performer, but most importantly, a storyteller, and she is determined to use her voice to take action that will benefit those whose voices need to be lifted.
"MacDonald lives up to the lineage of fine starlets who have come before her. I loved her character, her singing, and her lovely dancing."
"Kelsey MacDonald in her MTW debut ... begins to dance and does a leg extension I have not seen since Cyd Charisse in Singin’ in the Rain."
